Hip Hop music has always been a reflection of the times. Artists have used their voices and music to address various issues that have affected their community. These issues range from poverty, police brutality, gang violence, censorship, and racism to name a few.

For this assignment, you will select a rap album or artists like Kendrick Lamar, N.W.A., Salt N Pepa, David Banner, Rapsody, Queen Latifah, or Public Enemy and research the impact their music and lyrics had on the Hip-Hop community.You will analyze how their songs were used to express social protest and political oppression during various times in the 21st century.

To complete this assignment, you will need to write a 1000 word research paper to demonstrate your understanding of the cultural and social impact the artist you selected and their music had on hip hop culture and the world.The presentation should focus on the music and messages that were conveyed by the artist you choose and the direct impact they had on the Hip Hop community and society.
