Individual Final Project

Overview
You will select an existing organization to analyze using concepts learned during the course. The selected organization does not have to be a well-known Fortune company, nor does it have to be a for profit organization. The organization can be an institution of higher education, a business corporation, a health organization, or a manufacturing company, etc.

Written Report Guidelines
A 10 – 15 page report of the analysis is required using 12 point Times New Roman font, double￾spacing, with 1" margins and following APA’s writing style. References should be made in the text. For the purpose of this project, use the text chapters and journal articles assigned for this course in addition to any other available references such as books, journals, newspaper, internet information, or a direct interview (in case of an interview) as resources for your research.
Students must reference all of their research in the text of the paper. The papers must be proof read before final submission. The paper must be free of spelling and grammar mistakes, logically written, and coherent. It should include at least 10 references. This means that students are to refer to the information in these sources in a relevant way throughout the paper using APA format. In the report you need to apply the concepts learned during the course to describe and assess the organization.

Note: Select a local/national/global organization that you will have access to. The objective of the project is find a local organization that you will help improve. The organization may be for profit or non-profit. You are required to research the selected organization and address the following areas:
Content of the Course Paper
Make sure that your paper has a bolded header for each of the areas and sub-areas below.
1. Organizational Strategy
 Define and assess the organization’s strategy
2. Environment in which the Organization Operates
 Task Environment
 General Environment
3. Organizational Structure and Form
 Appropriateness of structure to the environment and strategy
 Identify organizational form (mechanistic or organic), and thoroughly analyzes its
appropriateness for the environment of the organization.
4. Leadership
 Who are the organization's heroes?
 Define the heroes’ leadership style and analyzes its appropriateness for the motivational
environment of the organization.

5. SWOT Analysis.
 Provide a table listing all of the strength (S), weakness (W), opportunities (O), and threats
(T).
 Identify 3 each of the internal strength (S) and weakness (W), and match them with 3
each of the external opportunities (O) and threats (T). A sentence should be provided for
each point explaining their inclusion.
6. Your Recommendation based on the SWOT analysis
The project will be graded by the following criteria:
80% content of the paper including references
10% organization
10% language and grammar
DUE DATE: May 28th midnight of Week 10
Writing Standards
All writing assignments in this course must be word-processed and checked for spelling and
grammar. The following are to be taken into consideration by the student when writing the
papers in this course:

Synthesized and evaluated appropriate materials
Original and appropriate approach – clear thesis
Organization:
Logical plan
Appropriate order of ideas
Appropriate beginning and conclusion
Appropriate cohesion and progression of ideas and transitions
Proper headers and sub-headers
Form and Mechanics:
Correct language control
No grammatical or sentence errors
No spelling, punctuation, and capitalization errors
Correct idiom and word usage
