Fiscal Policy

Fiscal policy refers to the changes in government’s choices regarding the overall level of government spending and taxes to influence the behavior of the economy. Fiscal policy can expand or contract aggregate demand. The government sometimes uses the fiscal policy instruments in an attempt to stabilize the economy.

Under a recession, an expansionary fiscal policy is adopted, which involves lowering taxes and/or increasing government spending. In an overheated expansion with an inflationary pressure, a contractionary fiscal policy is utilized, which requires higher taxes and/or reduced government spending. Economists and policymakers disagree about how active the government should be in these fiscal policy efforts.
Based on the above summary and the detailed descriptions of the fiscal policy issues discuss the following questions:

• What are the expansionary and contractionary fiscal policies? What are their policy instruments? How are they used to deal with the inflationary gap and recessionary gap? Which do you think is more appropriate today?
• Should the government balance its budget? If you think it should, what steps do you suggest that it take to balance its budget?
• What is the relationship between budget deficits and national (public) debt? Why the U.S. national debt has been increasing for decades?
• Should the tax laws be reformed to encourage saving? Do you think consumption tax is better than income tax?

Environmental Finance Analysis Paper

All i am trying to do thus far is to do calculations and an executive summary i also need a detailed explanation of how these calculations were done. i am not even sure how to request this? You will need to follow these steps in order to complete the project:

Download the case study KEL430 from the Harvard site. All students need to purchase Harvard Business case KEL430 available at a special discount from https://hbsp.harvard.edu/import/724446 (Links to an external site.) (Expires Nov 30, 2020)
The required spreadsheet is not available from the Harvard link; instead, the spreadsheet file is provided here with permission from Harvard: KEL432-XLS-ENG completed original spreadsheet from Harvard.xlsPreview the document
Perform a detailed reading of the case study.
The spreadsheet calculates the financial and environmental impact for what we will call "Scenario 1, Base Case".
Next, conduct research to determine revised (current) assumptions for the annual price escalation rates. These will be required for the second scenario.
Enter the revised (current) assumptions for the annual price escalation rates in the spreadsheet (Pro Forma tab) from the research in step 5. Only change these rates in the Pro Forma; however, it will be necessary to modify the Pro Forma and Environmental Impact Analysis tables as additional projects become viable. This will be Scenario 2.
Once the two spreadsheet analysis are complete, the team will prepare and submit a summary investment recommendations report (the paper) uploaded here with the two Excel spreadsheet scenarios.
Assignment Requirements:

This assignment is to provide a succinct set of focused recommendations. As part of your team's analysis and discussion, the team should include responses to each of the following questions:

Is a 9.5 percent discount rate appropriate? Why or why not? How do your recommendations change when you vary this rate? (Do not change the 9.5% rate in the spreadsheet, as the sensitivity analysis tables cover a wide range.)
Are the different annual price escalation rate assumptions for water, wastewater, gas, electricity, item replacements, and maintenance costs appropriate? Why or why not? How do your recommendations change when you change these rates?
Is the 7.5 percent increase in value (exit cap) over ten years a reasonable rate of value increase? Why or why not? (Do not change the 7.5% rate in the spreadsheet, as the sensitivity analysis tables cover a wide range.)
How do the environmental impacts of each option vary? How are they similar?
How do your recommendations provide a reasonable financial return as well as a positive overall environmental impact?
Assumptions:
Use the following assumptions for the Base Case scenario:

Cost/Saving Type Price Escalation
Water 2.0%
Wastewater 1.5%
Gas 2.5%
Electricity 2.0%
Lifecycle 3.0%
Maintenance 3.5%

Assignment Format:

The paper must conform to University College Format and Style RequirementsPreview the document Turabian 2018 9th ed. and include at least five references in addition to the case study. Text citations must be used as appropriate. The content of the paper must be structured as follows:

I. Title page

II. Executive Summary (Note: an executive summary is not the same as an abstract. Present hard facts succinctly that are important to executives, e.g., issues, results, recommendations, conclusions, implications)

Cultivate a Shared Vision

As a leader within an organization, for this week you will evaluate how you would begin to implement the visioning process and create an implementation plan. Address the following in your implementation plan:

Provide an overview of the organization or department in which you are writing about, and include the current status of the vision of that department or organization. Explain whether the vision is strong and if employees are inspired by it. Summarize the efforts being made by current leaders to inspire a shared vision.
Explain the necessary steps you would take to establish and inspire a shared vision within either a specific department or organization.
Be sure to describe and explain the basis for why you included a given step in your plan.
Support your plan with at least eight scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 5 pages, not including title and reference pages

Page numbers should go on the bottom right.

Your plan should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Performance Improvement Plans

Performance improvement plans, or PIPs, can be one of the most powerful tools for managing employee performance. Used correctly, a performance improvement plan can help a struggling employee get back on track or improve an area of weakness, so that the employee can move on to continued growth and opportunities within the organization.

In addition to correcting and improving employee performance, which is the desired outcome, a PIP can also protect the company when improvement does not occur. A PIP creates a paper trail that documents where improvement in performance did and did not occur, as well as what the company did to assist the employee toward a successful outcome. Another advantage of the PIP is that it typically costs less to work to improve an existing employee’s performance than to recruit, hire, and train a new employee.

To begin this Assignment, you will examine the case study, “Missed Pickup Means a Missed Opportunity for 30 Seeking a Fellowship,” provided in this week’s resources.

Respond to the following bullets in a 3- page paper, which will include 2 Appendices.

Begin your paper with an introduction and then provide a summary of the case study.
Prepare a needs assessment to analyze both employees’ skill levels identified in the scenario.
Based on the needs assessment, prepare an analysis of what should have happened, and what actually did happen, in the scenario.
Based on the needs assessment, evaluate the appropriateness among possible choices of action (strategies), including discipline, development, improvement, or termination for the two employees.
As a Human Resources professional, create a performance improvement plan for each employee that outlines the following:
Expected behaviors;
Metrics for improvement;
Required action steps;
Consequences for not meeting the plan’s expected outcomes;
Their manager’s role.
Prepare instructions for the manager on how to conduct a meeting with each employee about improvements and consequences.

Moral Stages at the County Sheriff’s Office

Prologue - Both the Grantham County Sheriff’s Office and the University City Police Department have a Records Management System (RMS). These systems contain all civil, criminal, and informational reports along with other confidential information. Each department allows its police officers, deputies, detectives, records clerks, and dispatchers access to these files while at work. Under no circumstances will the public have access to the information contained in RMS. All employees receive training and sign a document stating that he or she understands that violating this directive may result in termination and other criminal charges.

Scenario - Badpenny and Dreadford have been dating for several months. Recently, Badpenny started to believe Dreadford’s claim that University City Detective, Alphonse Krupt or just Al Krupt set him up.

Dreadford told Badpenny that the time he spent in prison was for a crime he did not commit. Dreadford explained that Detective Al Krupt is a dirty cop and Detective Krupt planted the meth found in his car. Dreadford always parked his car in the street in front of his house and left the vehicle unlocked. Detective Krupt must have put the meth in his vehicle that night while Dreadford slept. The day of his arrest, Dreadford had left for work in the morning and Detective Krupt pulled Dreadford over because he did not use his turn indicator.

Detective Krupt then made a factious claim that he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana, which gave him probable cause to search Dreadford’s vehicle. Detective Krupt acted surprised when he found the meth he had planted and then arrested Dreadford. Badpenny thought Dreadford’s accounting of the incident was plausible and started to believe that the officers were embellishing their stories of Dreadford.

Badpenny thought there is no way her sweet, thoughtful Dreadford was the major drug dealer the officers made him out to be. One evening after work, Badpenny received a call from Dreadford asking her to come by, which was unusual. However, she was excited that he had been thinking about her and could not wait to see him. When Badpenny arrived at Dreadford’s house, he handed her one yellow rose and a glass of wine and said, “You look beautiful.” Dreadford casually asked Badpenny “Did anything exciting happen during your shift?”

Badpenny said, “As a matter of fact the detectives arrested a person in connection with the illegal drug trade in Grantham County.” Badpenny continued to share details about the arrest and told Dreadford that the arrestee might become a confidential informant in exchange for leniency on his case. Badpenny lowered her voice and said, “The arrest caused quite a commotion at the department, but it is all quite hush-hush because the person the detectives arrested may lead to an even larger drug bust.”

Dreadford filled Badpenny’s glass of wine, kissed her on the cheek, and then asked, “Who the person was that the detectives arrested?”

Badpenny replied, “Roy McCoy” (Badpenny did not tell Dreadford McCoy’s nickname is “Mookie”). Badpenny asks Dreadford, “Do you know McCoy?”

Dreadford says, “No, I do not know a guy that goes by that name.” Badpenny had another glass of wine and with a little prompting from Dreadford; she tells him how she became curious about the incident when the federal agents showed up at the department. Badpenny pulled up the detective’s report on RMS and read it.

Dreadford asks, “What was in the report?”

Badpenny said, “In the report the detective stated that McCoy is going to help them get the next big shipment of Meth coming into town next week. If the drug bust goes well, McCoy may not get any prison time for helping the police and the department could get thousands of dollars in revenue.”

For this week’s assignment, review the scenario above and write a 2- to 3-page paper identifying external factors that influenced Badpenny’s decision to share confidential information. Also, include how the structure of an organization influences an employee’s decision to behave ethically or unethically, and what interventions an organization can implement to encourage ethical behavior. Apply Kohlberg’s moral stages to explain what stage you see both Badpenny and Dreadford - give examples.

In addition to your textbook, find one scholarly article retrieved from the Grantham Library - EBSCO host to help support the concepts you selected from your textbook.

Type all papers in Times New Roman 12pt font – include the header, title page, and reference page; APA formatting is required in this course. Use at least two scholarly reference sources such as the textbook and scholarly peer-reviewed articles obtained from the Grantham Library. Additional references may be procured from the Internet. Citing your references by using parenthetical citations (in-text citations) is a skill that each student must demonstrate in this course.

Ethical Dilemmas and Decisions in Criminal Justice, 10th Edition
Joycelyn M. Pollock BOOK

Personality Test

Take the test by answering the questions as honestly as possible. Upon completion, find your comprehensive personality report on the five personality traits and reflect upon the positive aspects of your relationship with each trait. Choose the most positive information in the report and reflect upon how that trait is a personal strength that you possess.

To begin your essay, state and highlight or indicate in italics or bold your positive Trait. It is not necessary to define the trait or reiterate the description of it from your results.

Now, describe your reaction in the following ways: How does this trait represent who you are as a person? Were you surprised by the results? How does this trait act as a personal strength, and in what ways do you find having it important and helpful to your quality of life? Aside from the test results, what other character strength(s) do you feel you have, and how are they important or helpful in reference to your psychological well-being? Some examples include leadership, gratitude, spirituality, bravery, honesty, justice, perseverance, appreciation of beauty, wisdom, etc. You will want to address the answers to these questions clearly and completely as this is 25% of your grade on the essay.

Next, explain how you can apply this personality trait / strength or your other strengths to the important areas of your life such as work, school, relationships, play, and/or parenting. You may even wish to use your strengths in a way that you have not done before and report on that

Hofstede's Dimensions of National Culture and HRM

Part 1

Hofstede's Dimensions of National Culture is often used by companies in preparing employees for overseas assignments and travel. For example, the Power Distance Index is 40 in the United States, 68 in France, and 80 in China. These dimensional scores tell us that in China inequities among people is acceptable, while in the United States it is much less acceptable.

FFH was founded as a regional company to serve the rural and agricultural markets. Over the years, its markets have expanded into more urban areas and now serve a mixture of urban and agricultural customers. This expansion has changed the nature of its stores and its product lines to serve a larger and more diverse of group of customers. With its expansion into the manufacturing area and its evolving product lines, FFH has steadily moved into the world of global markets and globalization.

FFH has contact with the international world in several ways, including:

Its manufacturing products are sold through brokers in several counties around the world, but FFH marketing employees support the brokers with overseas travel.
The buyers at corporate headquarters are purchasing many products from international companies, and the buyers generally make one or two trips a year overseas. The buyers also deal with a diverse and international group of marketing people who call on them in the buyers' offices.

Respond to one of the following:

In preparing FFH buyers for overseas travel, which of Hofstede's national cultural dimensions do you believe would be the most valuable to emphasize in the travel training? Why do you feel this is the most important? Use two countries of your choice and compare them to the United States on the dimension you selected. Complete a brief analysis of how you would use this comparison in your training.

Using your workplace (or a global organization you are familiar with), how is Hofstede's work incorporated into this organization's travel training? If it is not, what cultural dimensions would you select to enhance the training of employees for overseas assignments?

Part 2

Respond to one of the following:

As an HR professional working for FFH, which of the analytical methods from this unit would be the most appropriate for an FFH store to consider implementing, and why? What are three types of data you would want to include in your analytical analysis, and why?

Using your workplace (or an organization you are familiar with), explain the use of either scorecards or dashboards and what types of data and information are analyzed. Do the metrics support a strategic initiative, or have they led the organization in a different direction?

With this assignment, you will learn about and discuss various neurological alterations. For this paper, you will need to describe and discu...
