Related Assignment Criterion:
1. Summarize the problem and relevant peer-reviewed literature.
2. Integrate best practice strategies and skills into a holistic plan to address the problem.
Assignment Description
In this assignment, you synthesize the best practice skills and strategies you analyzed in your Macro Analysis Paper in Unit 3 to address a social services organization or practice problem. In your presentation, you need to address the sustainability of the strategies and discuss how these strategies improve the quality of social work services relevant to the identified problem.

You present and extend your Macro Analysis Paper by narrating a recorded PowerPoint presentation. Be sure to incorporate any relevant instructor or peer feedback from the Unit 3 assignment into your presentation.

Assignment Instructions
To complete this assignment, design a narrated PowerPoint presentation based on your revised Macro Analysis Paper in Unit 3. In your presentation:

Describe the selected problem and the necessity of researching the problem (for example, why it is important to address this problem).
Summarize your peer-reviewed research on the topic.
Remember to provide APA citations on either the slide or in the notes of the presentation.
Present any theory or models identified in your Unit 3 paper.
Incorporate the foundations of current research, generalist social work practice skills, client advocacy skills, and additional macro social work resources into the presentation as well.
Present your integration of best practice strategies and skills into a holistic plan to address the problem.
Explain your reasoning using details and peer-reviewed literature.
In addition to synthesizing your Unit 3 paper, you also need to do the following in your presentation:

Analyze the sustainability of the proposed strategies, considering the available resources.
How will these strategies endure over a long period of time?
What are the long-term impacts on the macro practice?
Would you need to seek additional resources, and if so, how would you procure them?
Describe how implementing these strategies will improve the quality of social work services to address the identified issue.
What might occur if there is no intervention?
What is likely to change with your identified best practice intervention?
Note: Remember to be as detailed as possible in developing your argument and ideas. Also, include relevant, peer-reviewed APA citations to support your analysis throughout the presentation.

Additional Requirements
Your presentation should meet the following requirements:

Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and formatting standards.
References: A minimum of five scholarly resources. All literature cited should be current, with publication dates within the past five years.
Slide requirements: 10–15 PowerPoint slides with simple, clear formatting.

Rogerian Essay

This essay should be between 900 and 1000 words, excluding the required annotated bibliography.

First, you will choose a public debate that has at least two opposing sides (please do not reuse your Toulmin essay topic), (Dont use police brutality) As before, you need to research that topic in order to narrow the topic’s scope, so it can be easily discussed in 1000 word essay.

Note: Consider your audience as laymen in the field who have only general knowledge of your topic.

This essay must include a minimum of five sources. Three should be peer-reviewed sources, preferably from the APUS databases. From the library welcome page, click on Advanced Search at the bottom of the page and then check the "peer reviewed" sources box filter.

The following should clarify the term "peer-reviewed": http://youtu.be/rOCQZ7QnoN0. You may use eBooks; however, as discussed in your textbook, books generally are not as current as peer-reviewed articles. You may also use primary sources (interviews, statistics, etc); however, these primary sources should be obtained from experts within that field. If you cannot find strong sources for your chosen topic, then change your topic. If you have a question about the validity of a source,

Make sure to include the following sections in your essay:

an introduction and claim,
background,
body,
and a conclusion.

Make sure your essay includes the following:

The background for your chosen topic,
A discussion of both sides of the debate, including core values or warrants underlying their arguments
Your common ground (Rogerian) solution/claim
An explanation of how that common ground claim can resolve the core issue for both sides.

After you have written your essay, please make sure to revise the content of your essay. Lastly, be sure to edit your essay by checking grammar, format, and smaller technical details. Please make sure your essay is written in third person.

The Annotated Bibliography

As with the Toulmin essay, an annotated Bibliography (AB) is due with your Rogerian essay.

The following is a sample of an annotated bibliography entry.

Clark, Irene L. The Genre of Argument. Fort Worth, TX: Harcourt Brace, 1998. Print.

Clark's textbook identifies the major steps to developing a well-researched and well-written argumentative essay. It is older, but still contains much useful material on process. Professional essays are included in the text as models. It will help me mostly with writing and organization, since internet research has changed since 1998.

Summary:

Connected Medical Devices, Apps: Are They Leading the IoT Revolution — or Vice Versa?

This article describes the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of medical devices.  I chose this article because it not only examines the applications of a very useful class of IoT devices, but it also highlights the need for ways of collecting and processing the data they produce.

In the article, the author describes how many medical monitoring devices are now capable of connecting to the Internet and are becoming a normal part of patient care.  These devices allow remote monitoring of patient health wirelessly and can collect data on a wide range of vital signs and indicators.  Data can be collected from a range of sensors reading everything from heart rate and blood pressure through to blood sugar levels and temperature.

In addition to passive monitors, IoT medical devices provide the ability to proactively prompt patients to do things, for example to warn them of their blood pressure or to alert them that they need more medication.  The article points out that many of these notifications are the result of apps (software) interacting with both the devices and the patients.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the article is the author’s discussion of what happens to the data that the IoT medical devices produce.  The author explains that many devices can send data directly to the cloud for storage and analysis and that this data constitutes a wealth of information that will potentially improve healthcare in the future.

I found this article useful because it not only highlighted the increasing ubiquity of Internet-connected medical devices, but also made me think about how the data is collected, where it is stored and how it could be used – both positively and negatively – in the future.
